Reiki Training Level 1

Reiki Master Marleen Wood will offer classes in Level 1 of Usui Reiki training.

Reiki is a Japanese hands-on healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki means Universal Life Energy, the energy that sustains all life. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

First Degree Reiki Training (two days January 11 & 12, 2020 must attend both days)
We will capture the essence of Reiki. You will hear the history of Reiki and learn about applications of Reiki, harnessing and protecting your energy. You will learn how to do a complete Reiki treatment using hand positions and intuition. You will learn the five precepts of Reiki and practice specific Japanese meditation techniques. You will experience attunements at a local energy vortex, so that you may begin practicing Reiki on yourself and others, with understanding and clarity. You leave class with a certificate, fully trained to do Reiki on yourself, loved ones and friends, plants and animals.

We recommend a 30-day practice period between learning each level of Reiki training, so that the student may gain experience and confidence before progressing to the next level.

*Must have a minimum of 6 people to run the class

Second Degree Reiki Training (one day Nov. 17, must have completed level 1)
Marleen teaches three ancient, powerful, healing symbols. Highly effective, these symbols support healing and expansion in all areas of life, both for yourself and others. These sacred symbols are the key to why Reiki is a path that can lead to enlightenment and inner peace.

You receive a Reiki II Attunement which takes you a quantum leap in your effectiveness as an Advanced Reiki Practitioner. You leave class with your Reiki Second Degree Certificate and a deeper experience of the extraordinary healing and transformative powers of Reiki. . . The purpose of this program to enable participants to acquire the theory and hands-on skill needed to practice Reiki Level II to reduce anxiety, relieve pain, and promote healing in self and others. These skills enable participants to provide emotional support and the flexibility of offering Reiki energy without the need to touch the recipient. Reiki II focuses and intensifies Reiki I energy. You learn how to apply the Empowerment symbol to enhance what you learned in Reiki I. Reiki II empowers you to do Reiki on someone when they are “out of arm’s reach”. The Absent/Distant treatment is immensely useful for those times when you have family or friends at a distance. Even though you’re not physically present, you can offer them Reiki.

We recommend a 30-day practice period between learning each level of Reiki training, so that the student may gain experience and confidence before progressing to the next level.

Journaling Workshop with Jaime Robbins

We are thrilled to have Jaime Robbins of Think Say Do, offer her journaling workshop at our cozy and comfy space!

Journaling Workshops are for people who want to start or continue a path of self-discovery. This workshop is a space for individuals to get honest with themselves. Through guided writing, participants are encouraged to spend time alone by answering four to six questions per night.  It is intended to be an experience where connections to oneself and others can be made.  No matter the room or event, Jamie’s goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable to be authentic and real. Her stories are relatable and her questions are softly direct. She is straightforward but comforting, and try’s to treat everyone as if they are sitting around the kitchen table in her home.

Please bring a journal and pen or a laptop for the writing piece and an open mind and kind heart for the sharing portion.

About Jaime…

In 2015, I was diagnosed with cancer just three days after giving birth to my son. I was sitting upright in bed and my husband, Mike, was holding our baby boy Sam. The doctor came into my maternity room and said, “You have cancer.” I had been biopsied for a newly found tumor on my larynx the day after I had a cesarean. The stinging sensation from my salty tears at the back of my throat was excruciating but it paled in comparison to the feeling of the ground falling out from underneath me, my heart breaking, and the dizzy awareness that this was my reality. When I originally started to chronicle my traumatic cancer journey, I started writing and became brave with my words and forthcoming with my thoughts and feelings. Since I’ve been in remission, I have continued to share my vulnerable life experiences as a way to showcase perseverance, raw humanness, and self-discovery. My stories are unedited and genuine, and give readers a front row seat to my fears, joys, anxieties, triumphs and revelations. I aim to be regular, real, and to connect.

As a leader and speaker, I use the same candid approach as I do with my writing to guide others to uncover their own truths and perspectives. Because of my near-death experience, I articulately inspire participants to show up for their lives. I’m not an expert on anything. I just make space for people to be  honest with themselves.

I have been published in Mantra Magazine, and am an ongoing contributor for HuffPost. I’m currently writing my memoir. I live north of Boston with my husband, Mike and two sons, Sam and Jesse.
